About the Event
The Thomasian Brass Quintet traces its roots to the UST Brass Quintet which was formally organized in 1977. It was formally presented in a concert in St. Joseph’s Church in Las Piñas. Under the directorship of Prof. Roger Llado, all its members were recipients of the UST Rector’s Scholarship. The group won 2nd Prize in the 1995 Chamber Music Category and is composed of members who have also won as solo instrumentalists. They were invited by the Cultural Center of the Philippines to perform for NAMCYA’S 25th Anniversary Concert at the CCP in 1997 and toured Bulacan, Manila and Cavite. Its members have gone on to enjoy fulfilling careers as band maestros, soloists, and teachers.
